Michael Jackson & Lupus - The Interview

I'd like to share with you an interview that was aired recently on the American television channel, ABC.

Dr. Robert Lahita, a professor of medicine who has has written numerous books on lupus and other autoimmune conditions, gives a great description of lupus and how it related to Michael Jackson.

For those of you who don't understand lupus, this also gives an insight as to how it affects so many people worldwide.

Many thanks to Kendra of cure4lupus for bringing this to my attention.

Regards, Geoff.

Its very sad, but Michael could have been our face for lupus... This disease never gets any type of notice... and for once we have this Icon that has the disease, but it isn't brought up until his death. :(

Kasha

and yes, I have lupus.

I suffer from Lupus and it's is a devasting disease. However, we have a chance at an amazing treatment as Human Genome Science's (HGSI)has now completed their Phase III trial for the their drung Benlysta. They just announced that the trial met all primary endpoints in their 52 week trial and will announce the results of the last trial, before submitting to the FDA for approval, in November 09. The trials have shown that after being on Benlysta for 4 years, the incidence rate of flares had decreased to only 5%!!!!!!!!

This is amazing, as there has not been a new drug approved for Lupus for 50 years... Please look at their resutls at www.hgsi.com
