living with lupus - a forum for australia & the world

So you have lupus and nobody understands - where do you go?

In some countries there are national organisations who have forums or message boards. It's an opportunity to interact with others with lupus.

But many of us don't have forums close to home, so we visit sites in America, The United Kingdom, Germany, Spain or anywhere around the world where we can find some support and meet some fantastic new friends.

Until recently, people with lupus in Australia haven't had a forum they could relate to. But Maz from South Australia decided to start Living With Lupus.

"I wanted to reach out to other Aussie sufferers as well as keep in contact with my American friends and that is why I started it."

Maz has been interviewed by The Lupus Foundation of America's informative magazine Lupus Now, and I asked her why she was so passionate about starting a forum and what her hopes were for the project.

"I hope to be able to reach out to those Aussies who think there is NO support here in Oz, I know how it feels to feel alone and not have anyone understand what you go through, if the forum stops just one person from feeling that way, well it has done it's job!"

It's fantastic that Australian's finally have a place to chat and discuss their lupus issues. But Living With Lupus is for everyone around the world - so please feel free to take a look at a great new forum.

I'd really like to promote your favourite forums here so others can find a place where they feel comfortable talking to others who understand lupus. If you have a favourite lupus site or forum from anywhere around the world, please tell me about it and send me an email.

Best Wishes... Geoff (Jeff)
